Beatty: I was asking the Lord what to teach, and he simply said, just to teach what’s on my heart, what I’ve been going through and wrap it into some things that is kind of where I want to teach on as well. So I wanted to do something kind of interesting. For some of you who don’t know me, I love stepping out by faith. It’s scary. Faith is who knows how to spell faith? What’s the faith is spelled? All right. A risk. There you.

Beatty: [00:00:47.94] Go.

Beatty: [00:00:48.57] Someone understands that faith is spelled by risk. And I was reading.

Beatty: [00:00:56.55] A book.

Beatty: [00:00:57.84] About a guy actually here in Birmingham. His name is Joseph. I think that’s Joseph. And in this book, it’s a vision, a whole series of visions. Right. And in one of these visions, he is with the Lord and he’s put in this room. And this room has is made of faith all the way around. And he said it’s a it’s a soft cushion, a sticky subject substance that you you know, you can just kind of put your hand right in. But he said whenever you’re walking in that room, as soon as you’re about to take a step, it instantly turns hard as concrete. And what he was describing is that faith only manifests in your reality at the moment. You step out by faith. All right. We were doing I just did a series called Faith Like Jesus, and we had a lot of fun on the I think it was the first session or maybe the second session. And I remember as you open up the Bible and it says Jesus heals a woman’s woman with a flow of blood, but yet Jesus says your faith heals you. And then it’s the heading in the Bible, says Jesus Hills Blind Bar. Thomas and we got a big kick out. And I said, Well, let’s see what Jesus says. And it says, Jesus said, Your faith has made you well. And there’s something about stepping out by faith. You also see this when Jesus has a ten lepers come up to him and he says, Go show yourself to the priest. So he says, as they were going, they were cleansed and made well. And so you see this pattern that as you go and as you step out by faith. That’s when what you’re believing in by.

Beatty: [00:02:45.08] Faith.

Beatty: [00:02:45.83] Becomes reality. What you believe in is not in your head. At my website, get radical ft.com. If you want.

Beatty: [00:02:54.23] It.

Beatty: [00:02:54.95] You’ll see a topic on faith like Jesus. And one of the things that we talked about there is that faith. If you look at how.

Beatty: [00:03:03.02] We’re.

Beatty: [00:03:04.01] Wrapped up, this is.

Beatty: [00:03:07.10] Us.

Beatty: [00:03:08.00] And there are two, two places that we believe in. We believe in our mind and we believe in our heart. When you believe in your mind, it’s by your own will. That’s not faith. It’s when you believe in your heart. By the way, this is in the gut, not in the physical heart. That’s why it’s down there when you believe in your heart. That’s where faith.

Beatty: [00:03:33.59] Is.

Beatty: [00:03:34.98] So belief is in your mind and it’s not in your heart. So when I’m talking about walking by faith, stepping out by faith, it’s where it’s a spiritual belief. It’s a belief in your spirit because that’s where your spiritual heart is. And when and it comes from God’s word, it comes from the Word of.

Beatty: [00:03:59.29] God.

Beatty: [00:04:00.22] Believing it to be true, because it says that Romans 1017 faith comes from the word, from hearing the word of Christ, and then it says in Hebrews 11, by faith we believe. But before we believe, Hebrews 11 three says, by faith we understand. So if you want to draw this out, kind of diagram it a little bit. It says that by faith comes from hearing the word of God. Romans 1017 Then it says by so this is hearing, then we understand it. Which is from Hebrews 11 three. And Faith, it becomes the title deed. It’s we believe it to be true and we act on that. And that’s Hebrews 11 one, the amplified version. Bible says that faith is the title deed of things not seen. And so the picture is you have this promise from God. I’m looking for just a crumpled piece of.

Beatty: [00:05:08.07] Paper, but I’ll.

Beatty: [00:05:09.12] Just I don’t I’ll just imagine I’ve got a title, the like the title of.

Beatty: [00:05:14.49] Your card and.

Beatty: [00:05:15.66] I’ve got it crumpled up and pictured this being King David going into.

Beatty: [00:05:21.33] Battle.

Beatty: [00:05:22.80] He’s got the title date of the Promise. He’s taking over the promised land. It is promised by God, and it is therefore an absolute fact. He’s been called by God to lead Israel. So he’s charging into battle. He’s got a sword sticking out. He’s running and he’s got his title deed right here. That’s a picture of faith. It’s when you know for certain that you already have what’s been promised and you move.

Beatty: [00:05:52.60] Forward.

Beatty: [00:05:53.41] Without even seeing the outcome, because you know the outcome is real. Does this make sense? So this is kind of faith like Jesus or wrapped up the whole series. It starts here in your heart. It’s about stepping out by risk because you cannot see it. And you, every time you step out, you go, I hope this is going to happen. You all remember the story of Gideon. You’ve got 135,000 million nights. I think it is. And they’re coming against Israel. Or maybe it’s. How many was 135.

Beatty: [00:06:28.75] Now think it’s 130?

Beatty: [00:06:31.60] Maybe. Maybe 130. That’s right. So and then Gideon raises up an army from from all of Israel. And now I think it’s like 20,000 people or 30,000. He says those who are scared go home now. It’s down to 20,000 against 130,000. And then God says, no, that’s still too much. Gideon, tell them to slip out of the creek there. And those who sip a certain way, they go home. And so now he’s left with 300. And we always think about Gideon, but think about all 300 of them. They’re carrying a torch in one hand that’s covered with some sort of a jar to keep it from lighting out. And they’re carrying a bugle or a trumpet. And the other hand, I don’t think many if any of them had swords and they’re going out in the dead of night against this army of 130,000 people. And then they all break their shields on their torches. The torches flare up and they yell for Gideon and for the Lord, and they blow the horns. And I know what’s going on is they’re marching through that field in the dead of night and they’re going, I sure hope this works. I sure hope God is with us. All right. But they obey. That’s the other thing we see about faith is obeying God’s word. You look at Abraham, it says, Do you all remember what it says? Why he was reckoned righteous.

Beatty: [00:07:52.51] He believed.

Beatty: [00:07:53.53] Because he believed.

Beatty: [00:07:54.28] God.

Beatty: [00:07:55.69] It says he was righteousness was reckoned to Abraham because he believed God.

Beatty: [00:08:02.51] Yeah, I was just saying something to you. Because you can’t believe in your mind because of reasoning and rationalization is always going to. Yes, look at the circumstances and show you it’s impossible. That’s why it has to come from the heart.

Beatty: [00:08:18.31] It has to come from the heart. And also what happens up here in your mind is sometimes we want something so bad, it’s our desire and we mistake it for faith. I remember a friend of mine was sharing when he was in South Africa. There was a church there that preached on faith. Just believe, just believe, just believe. And this family had a diabetic son on insulin and the pastor was encouraging. Just believe the Lord to save, to heal your son, write the positive thinking. So they believed it. They believe to the point that they took their son off of insulin and they buried him to three days later. That is a belief in the mind based on what they desire, not a belief in the heart based on God’s word. Believing in the heart takes no effort. Believing up here takes effort. So if you find yourself trying to believe. It’s not faith. When you find yourself saying. It’s God’s word. I’m going to step out. That’s faith. Okay, so where I want to go on this. I want to talk about another aspect of faith. Ephesians one says.

Beatty: [00:09:37.06] All of our.

Beatty: [00:09:38.35] Blessings.

Beatty: [00:09:39.73] Are where?

Beatty: [00:09:41.90] And in the heavenly places that that God has given us all of our spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Anything that’s in the heavenly, anything that’s blessing from the spiritual is only received through faith. And so how many? I’ll know what I want to talk on this concept called a.

Beatty: [00:10:07.00] Demand for.

Beatty: [00:10:08.38] Just a.

Beatty: [00:10:08.65] Moment.

Beatty: [00:10:12.64] When you think of demand, what does that mean? What do you think of?

Beatty: [00:10:18.23] When you make a demand because you believe something.

Beatty: [00:10:21.38] You make.

Beatty: [00:10:21.77] A demand on it.

Beatty: [00:10:24.02] Keep on a band aid. And I’m impressed because most people I would think when you make a demand, it’s like, give that to me.

Beatty: [00:10:36.00] Right.

Beatty: [00:10:36.38] And you’re demanding something from someone that doesn’t belong to you. Does that make sense? But there’s a concept of making a demand of the Lord. And I want to start to unpack this a little bit, because this has to.

Beatty: [00:10:50.87] Do.

Beatty: [00:10:51.80] With walking by faith. So you have a promise over here. Let’s just say the promise is I give you 5000. That’s the promise. Well, if I give you 5000, then you can make a demand withdrawal.

Beatty: [00:11:16.85] Of.

Beatty: [00:11:17.39] What is already yours. Does that make sense? This is where you have. If you go to the bank, you have what’s called a demand checking account.

Beatty: [00:11:25.13] Or.

Beatty: [00:11:25.43] Demand deposit.

Beatty: [00:11:26.50] Like a promissory note.

Beatty: [00:11:28.10] Almost, almost. So let’s look at this. This is interesting because if you look at the banking system and then compare this to our spiritual wall, you start to see some interesting things. So in the banking system, you have what’s called a demand deposit account. What this means is you have this account that’s assigned to you and then you can put money into it. And whose money is that? That’s yours. And then you can write a check. To somebody. Out of your account when that check arrives at the bank, it’s called a demand withdrawal. You make a demand of the bank. The bank cannot refuse it because they are obligated to hold your money as a fiduciary of yours. And when you demand it out, they have to send it out without any restriction. They have no control in the matter because it’s your money. They’re only safekeeping it until you demand it out. Does that make sense? So. So now change this money from the demand deposit account to God’s Word account when God gives us a word. And we believe by faith in what he’s told us, then we can make a demand. Of that word. It’s hours. It’s art. We have the title D by faith. We own it. The question is, are we going to step out and claim it? Just because you own it doesn’t mean you can use it. If you never know that you had $1,000,000 sitting in your bank account, you would never spend it. You have to know it’s yours before you do something with it. Is this making sense? Okay, so you have a demand of the Lord. Now, this is not demanding the Lord. That’s a different. It’s a demand of the Lord. What I would call a demand withdrawal. And a demand withdrawal is where you come into an environment, a situation, and you say.

Beatty: [00:13:49.72] Lord.

Beatty: [00:13:50.47] You have promised and I make a demand against that promise and I’m going to move.

Beatty: [00:13:55.72] Forward.

Beatty: [00:13:56.95] In accordance with what you promised. And even though you can’t see it, it’s like that room of faith. As soon as you step into it that.

Beatty: [00:14:08.11] That floor.

Beatty: [00:14:09.31] Turns into solid concrete. It’s nice and soft and cushy. Until you step up by faith. And instantly at that moment, that’s when it hardens up. Think about Peter walking on the water. As long as he believed in his heart. Every step he took, it was like solid concrete. And then as soon as he doubted it became water.

Beatty: [00:14:33.96] So baby, is it is it like this when you’re talking about the financial situation? It’s a contractual agreement. Because you can’t make that agreement. Therefore, the demand deposit is held and a demand withdrawal is now required against that contract, that agreement. So in the spiritual, it’s a covenantal agreement. And so because of the covenant of the promise, we are able to make a demand. Of the fulfillment of that promise.

Beatty: [00:15:12.44] Yes. So so let me let me show you. There are two ways that we can see this demand of the Lord demand withdrawal. I like to use the word demand withdrawal because that kind of connotation what it really is, you have two things. Number one, you have what God’s word says. What does his.

Beatty: [00:15:38.15] Word.

Beatty: [00:15:40.85] Say about a certain matter? Believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved. You can make a demand of that promise. We’re going to see in just a moment going to wrap up with some stewardship stuff. But it says basically, as you give.

Beatty: [00:15:57.87] Cheerfully, I’ll.

Beatty: [00:15:59.19] Supply all your need so you can make a demand withdrawal then. So this has God’s word. Let’s call this God’s written word. Then sometimes for some of my friends who can hear God’s spoken word. What? God. Spoken word says you ask the Lord, Lord, what should I do? And you hear the Lord tell you what you should do. Well, then when you act on that, you can make a demand of that promise. Will you take care of me? Yes. I’ll go do.

Beatty: [00:16:41.44] This.

Beatty: [00:16:42.13] And I’ll make a demand of your promise to take care.

Beatty: [00:16:44.35] Of me or.

Beatty: [00:16:46.69] If you put in a financial sense. So it’s a lot easier for us sometimes to think of this in terms of finances. You know, I don’t have any money, but I’m going to go do this and the Lord will provide. But it it’s in all kinds of areas. Like when I go out and pray for people, my wife is always saying, wash your hands and don’t touch people. And, you know, that’s what my my dad would say and others. But the lawyers told.

Beatty: [00:17:11.23] Me.

Beatty: [00:17:11.89] Go do this and I’ll take care of you. I remember one guy was talking about he was in this service, sort of a healing type of service where you pray for people. And this person came up and said, Chuck, I want you to know that I have a life threatening disease. And Chuck says, that’s all right. I got a disease threatening life. Right. So it’s. So that’s a demand withdrawal of the promise. And then you have one other thing. You have the covenant. So you have God’s covenant. And this is where I want to park for just a moment. God’s covenant gives us. Certain things that are ours. What things are ours. You can name in the New Covenant. What things are.

Beatty: [00:18:09.57] Ours?

Beatty: [00:18:11.37] Healing.

Beatty: [00:18:12.99] Salvation.

Beatty: [00:18:13.77] Salvation. Good. Heaven. All right. Forgiveness.

Beatty: [00:18:19.58] What else? Watch this.

Beatty: [00:18:29.97] Everything. That is Jesus.

Beatty: [00:18:40.70] All right.

Beatty: [00:18:41.60] Let me see if I can back this up for just a moment. Now there’s wisdom in doing and understanding this.

Beatty: [00:18:49.02] There’s faith.

Beatty: [00:18:50.58] A lot of times we don’t have the faith for what we kind of know is ours, but we don’t have the faith to walk in it. So you want to be sensitive, but I want to show you something here. When was the New Covenant? Established with us.

Beatty: [00:19:11.43] Steve.

Beatty: [00:19:12.81] Abraham, the New Covenant. When? When did that occur? At the Last Supper. And he said. This is my blood given to you. Drink in remembrance of me, right? When you have a covenant that is sealed with blood, what does that called a blood covenant? And what is the significance of a blood covenant?

Beatty: [00:19:54.50] Sacrifice. Sacrifice a little bit more. Okay. So the light. The light is in the. And you are right.

Beatty: [00:20:09.03] His life becomes ours. Our life becomes his. Let me give you a reference. Human terms. The blood covenant is the strongest covenant you can make. So think about this. You have two native tribes. Often the bushes. One tribe is an agrarian tribe. Agriculture. They plant and they harvest and they have food. But they’re not good at fighting. Another tribe is a warrior tribe. They’re great at fighting, but they don’t have a green thumb at all.

Beatty: [00:20:46.44] Okay.

Beatty: [00:20:47.28] So they make a blood covenant with each other. And here’s what the blood covenant says. Whatever is mine that you need is yours. All that is mine is yours. So when this warrior tribe, they go through, there’s a drought. There’s a famine. Maybe they’re hunting. Hunting animals have kind of dissipated. They can come to the agriculture tribe and take whatever they want to eat because of the blood covenant. Whatever is mine is yours. Likewise, if the agriculture tribe is being attacked by neighboring Indians of some sort, then they can call in the warrior tribe. And the warrior tribe has to come and defend them. What we have with Jesus is a blood covenant. Watch this. So there’s a covenant between the father. To the sun. Right. And then there’s a covenant between the son and the bride. Okay. So we have two covenants here. This one and we have this one. When Jesus tells us.

Beatty: [00:22:18.17] To pray.

Beatty: [00:22:19.34] For whatever we want. To the father, he says, to.

Beatty: [00:22:23.69] Pray.

Beatty: [00:22:25.01] In my name. So when we come to the father, we come through the son. To the father. All of our blessings are given to us in Christ, Jesus, in the spiritual places. So the Father gives all of our blessings to.

Beatty: [00:22:47.54] Us.

Beatty: [00:22:48.11] Through the sun. The sun. Is the intermediate between us and the father. Does this making sense? John 17. Jesus says all that is yours is mine. Talking to the father. And he essentially says, this is my paraphrase. And all that is mine.

Beatty: [00:23:12.26] I give.

Beatty: [00:23:12.71] To you. Here’s how it kind of works in a sense, going back to this concept of making a demand.

Beatty: [00:23:25.21] Of the Lord.

Beatty: [00:23:27.73] So what happens then is, father, this is now a.

Beatty: [00:23:32.62] Natural.

Beatty: [00:23:33.64] Human terms, not spiritual terms. So this father owns a big estate. He gives all of this estate to the son. And so now the son has this huge bank account with more money than he knows what to do. All get the picture. Then the son marries a bride. And now she’s called Mrs. Sun. And the son loves the bride. The son is the husband. What is the role of the husband to provide and protect? So the sun provides and protects for the bride. The Sun gives the bride signature access to his checking account. That means she can write a check. At any time. For any reason. To anyone. With the son’s full blessing because he’s given her all that is his. All that is hers is also his. So we have this marriage relationship that we see the same thing. All that is mine is yours. All that is yours is mine. So what happens now? Is the bride. Could it come from a poor family? She’s never had lots of money. She marries the son and she’s now known as Mrs. Sun. She writes this check. It goes to the bank. And what happens to the bank? They fulfilled the demand withdrawal. She didn’t earn the money. It wasn’t given directly to her. But she has full access.

Beatty: [00:25:35.48] To it through.

Beatty: [00:25:36.71] The relationship with her husband. That’s what we’re seeing over here. All that the fathers give has. Has been given to the son. We are the bride of Christ. And all of our blessings. Are in the heavenly places. And we have the right. To make a demand of the Lord against those blessings, against all that He’s promised us. But it only comes through faith. Salvation is one of those blessings. But you must believe on the Lord to be saved. Healing is one of those blessings. But you must believe that that blessing is yours to receive it. Walking on the water. Never done that before. Don’t think I have.

Beatty: [00:26:39.83] The.

Beatty: [00:26:41.24] Faith to believe that I can. But we see in the Scriptures that it’s one of those promised blessings because Jesus.

Beatty: [00:26:49.91] Rebuked.

Beatty: [00:26:50.60] Peter when He.

Beatty: [00:26:51.47] Stopped walking.

Beatty: [00:26:53.53] And so what we have is we have a a supernatural life that as we walk in our life. We realize that we have all these blessings that are given to us by the father, through the son, through our relationship as the bride. And we can, by faith, make a demand with trouble against those. The level of faith we walk in determines the degree of the blessings we receive. By faith. We are sons of God through faith. That’s what Paul to Paul tells us. And you can either be a son of God at the resurrection. Or it says Our Sons of God through faith. Which means you could actually be a son of God now operating in Sonship with what the son has becoming yours. So I want to bring this down at a at a concept level, help you understand that. What the sun has becomes ours. And it’s it’s ours at the resurrection in the new kingdom. If we don’t receive it now through faith or we can receive it now or.

Beatty: [00:28:16.06] Partial.

Beatty: [00:28:16.96] Parts of it now.

Beatty: [00:28:18.01] Through faith.

Beatty: [00:28:19.81] As we believe. So I want to bring.

Beatty: [00:28:22.15] Some.

Beatty: [00:28:23.80] Take this a little different step in just a moment. Any questions on this first?

Beatty: [00:28:29.58] Okay. So when you say I think what scares people in the church and out of the church believers and nonbelievers is the terminology of the man. So I think that if we understand that the verbiage, demand is really covenant language and it really is the way the kingdom is set up. It’s in legal terms, even with deliverance and promises. And so I think that if we look at that, because in the courtroom, when you make demands and things, it’s not with emotion. It’s based on principles of law. Yes. And so the same thing with the heaven bodies when we come and we respond in obedience to his word, which he provides through the covenant, these demands. It’s really. We would we would say in a more tender way we are making requests knowing that it will be fulfilled, which is really great.

Beatty: [00:29:45.45] You know, it’s interesting. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of having to sue someone. Because of a breach of contract. And so when you do that, you follow what’s called a complaint with the court. I complain that they broke their contract. I am damaged.

Beatty: [00:30:15.41] By a.

Beatty: [00:30:16.94] Certain amount of what that contracts worth. Let’s say it’s $10,000. And then the last part of the complaint is, I make a demand. For that 10,000. And I’m able to make that demand because it is contractually mine. That’s what you’re talking about.

Beatty: [00:30:38.36] Yes.

Beatty: [00:30:39.08] And I think another thing that scares a lot of people in this concept is. You have to understand faith.

Beatty: [00:30:49.15] First.

Beatty: [00:30:50.62] I want to show I want to go into the Bible now and I want.

Beatty: [00:30:53.98] To.

Beatty: [00:30:54.82] Look at a real application. This is going to be interesting. So turn.

Beatty: [00:31:01.61] To.

Beatty: [00:31:05.91] Let’s let’s turn to second Corinthians nine, and we’ll start with verse six. So this is talking about risk. Risk is believing what is true that you cannot see. So this is Paul talking to the Corinthians and second Corinthians nine six says this. Now I say he who so sparingly shall also reap sparingly. And he sows bountiful. He shall also reap bountiful. So Paul is about to get into talking about giving and sharing. Why do you think he’s using an agrarian concept of sowing and reaping?

Beatty: [00:32:05.84] Because it involves, like, seeds.

Beatty: [00:32:08.18] Yeah, it involves like seeds. And the other thing is, we see these patterns that God always operates in. One pattern is that every seed reproduces after its own time, and the more seed you put out, the more harvests you get back. And it’s not just when he when he said every seed reproduces after its own kind. He wasn’t talking about money that was back in Genesis. They didn’t have.

Beatty: [00:32:35.21] Money.

Beatty: [00:32:36.83] He’s talking about little seed. But yet we see these patterns in scripture. And this is a pattern as he’s as we start to get.

Beatty: [00:32:46.42] Into.

Beatty: [00:32:47.83] As Paul starts to get into talking about financial giving, he starts first with the spiritual pattern of sowing and reaping. And then let’s look at the next verse, verse seven. This has led each one do, just as he is purposed in his heart, not in his mind. Not grudgingly or under compulsion for a God loves a cheerful giver. This is a hard thing. It’s not a mind.

Beatty: [00:33:18.04] Thing you.

Beatty: [00:33:19.12] Don’t give to get. That’s a main thing.

Beatty: [00:33:22.66] You give.

Beatty: [00:33:24.50] Out of the heart. Not grudgingly. If you only do what’s required, would you say that’s under compulsion? Now, if you only give what’s required, then required means compulsive. You’ve got to do it. So what Paul is talking about in terms of giving here is that we’re to give financially this is what he saw as the financial side, but we’re to give financially from a heart of generosity, not a heart of legalism. You can take it a little bit further if you just turn real quickly to Genesis four versus three and five, three, three, five. I want to show you how this comes across. This is the story of Cain and Abel. Genesis four versus three, four and five.

Beatty: [00:34:21.98] And I’ll start and it says.

Beatty: [00:34:25.55] In the course of time came brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. And Abel also brought in offering fat portions from some of the first born of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering, he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry and his face was downcast. Why do you think God looked down on Cain’s offering? But look with honor and favor on tables offering. What does it.

Beatty: [00:35:03.79] Say? See more.

Beatty: [00:35:06.49] Abel was giving.

Beatty: [00:35:07.24] More. Because you said it. Wrath of the. You bring it. All right. Okay.

Beatty: [00:35:14.11] And then there’s there’s a little bit deeper going on. It’s not. There’s a little bit more than that.

Beatty: [00:35:21.76] He had to go.

Beatty: [00:35:25.81] Okay. Well, there was. Right. Let me let me show this. I don’t want to get too far down on this where we’ll start to mess out. Watch this. So it says that Cane brought some of the fruits of the soil. Abel brought. Fat portions from some of the firstborn. The fat portion is the best. Abel brought the best of what he could bring. Cain just brought something out of obligation. We see the same thing.

Beatty: [00:36:01.24] Here.

Beatty: [00:36:01.87] From the heart versus from the mind, but that’s what we see. Go back to second Corinthians nine seven. Paul is saying do just as you purpose in your heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver. And that’s what we saw with Abel. He’s a cheerful giver, wanting to give the best. It’s like you with a spouse wanting to give the best of what you have to your spouse. Until it comes to a chocolate cake dessert, and then I’ll take my spouse’s cake. Yeah, that’s how it’s supposed to be. Right. Then let’s look at the next verse. First and second Corinthians nine eight. And it says in God is able to make all grace abound to you. Let me just pause right there. God is able. What is that word able mean? Does that mean that he has the ability to do something? So like my wife says, Hey, honey, can you move the refrigerator for me? And I say, I am able. Does that mean that I’m going to do it?

Beatty: [00:37:11.41] Not just means you could, but.

Beatty: [00:37:13.36] It means I could. So the way we use in our English language able, it usually means we have the ability to do something. But it doesn’t mean that we’re going to do it. It simply is black and white. Yes, I am able. That’s not this word. When you look at the Greek of this word, what this means is he’s powerful and mighty and will. It’s an emphatic statement that says not only is he.

Beatty: [00:37:41.56] Able, but.

Beatty: [00:37:42.88] He is powerful, mighty and will. It is a promise.

Beatty: [00:37:47.17] It is a.

Beatty: [00:37:50.57] Promise of hours that we can make a demand withdrawal against when he says he is able, this becomes a promise. And what is he able what is he promising to do? He says, if we give cheerfully, he says, God. Is mighty and powerful and.

Beatty: [00:38:13.27] Will.

Beatty: [00:38:14.02] Make all grace abound to you that sometimes. Having most of what you need. Is that what it says? No. Always having all sufficiency in everything. You may have an abundance for.

Beatty: [00:38:35.91] Every good deed.

Beatty: [00:38:39.30] So let me ask, what does this mean? It says that always having all sufficiency. Does that actually mean what it seems to say? Always having all sufficiency? If we give cheerfully, God will in all times provide all sufficiency. That you may have an abundance to keep doing good stuff with your finances. Is that what this is?

Beatty: [00:39:07.27] Meaning you’re making it conditional on your willingness to give. Right.

Beatty: [00:39:13.84] Making it conditional on being cheerful.

Beatty: [00:39:15.61] Right. And so that’s the. Qualification that he’s requiring.

Beatty: [00:39:22.67] Okay. So let me ask you. So if I give at 12% of my income. Does this mean that? He will provide all that we need in abundance. Financially.

Beatty: [00:39:40.65] So also needs.

Beatty: [00:39:42.66] Or it says if you give cheerfully. Does it say that God will make all grace abound to you? That always. And having all sufficiency. And everything. You may have an abundance. Your. What are you thinking?

Beatty: [00:40:06.59] Take the heart.

Beatty: [00:40:09.23] From the heart. Okay. So if I get.

Beatty: [00:40:11.87] It says in every good word. And so that means, according to God’s purposes, for your life. Okay. Because it’s not just carte blanche in everything, but it’s in every good word. Right.

Beatty: [00:40:30.79] Okay, so you’ll have the abundance for every good work or in every good work and depending on your translations. Okay, so. So the question then is if I give 12% of what I earn. To the.

Beatty: [00:40:44.79] Lord.

Beatty: [00:40:45.81] Faithfully, cheerfully, from a cheerful heart. Does this say that God promises to provide for all my needs and give me sufficiency?

Beatty: [00:40:56.66] Yes, but. We set limitations and definitions to the sufficiency to all. Sometimes it may not be in monetary or material.

Beatty: [00:41:14.71] So let me challenge on that. Verse six, He who so sparingly shall reap sparingly. He who sows bountiful shall reap bountiful. Every seed reproduces after its own kind. We cannot claim that the seed changes. Unless we claim there’s a different pattern being taught.

Beatty: [00:41:38.71] But. Sorry.

Beatty: [00:41:41.30] No, that’s okay. So. So hear me out. Before we go too far down, the simple question I’m.

Beatty: [00:41:46.53] Asking.

Beatty: [00:41:48.18] And this is where reasoning starts to get say, well, that can’t be like in my faith like Jesus series was teaching that saying Jesus says whatever you believe. Will come about. You can say to this mountain, be lifted up and cast in the sea. Is that what Jesus really means? And people say, Well, no, it can’t be. Why not? Because that’s impossible. Reasoning of the mind, but God’s word clearly said. This Jesus starts to point first to this fig tree says You can, if you believe by faith, the grain of a mustard seed. You can say to this fig tree. Be curse and do the same thing I did. You can say to this mountain. Be taken up in cash. And in fact, whatever you believe. Will happen. So Jesus has taken this progression from a he’s not talking figuratively. I’m not going there. I’m just saying that we have a hard time believing something at face value. But I want to challenge them just a moment. So let me first. I’m going.

Beatty: [00:43:00.35] Somewhere.

Beatty: [00:43:01.43] If I give 12%. Of my income, cheerfully, according to God’s word. Will he? Does he promise to meet all my needs financially?

Beatty: [00:43:14.01] Yes.

Beatty: [00:43:15.36] If I give 25% of my income, does he promise to meet all my needs financially?

Beatty: [00:43:23.07] Cheerfully.

Beatty: [00:43:23.67] Thank you. Yes. If I give 60% of my income. Does it? Does the promise still hold true? So here’s my question. At what point? Can you out give God’s promise to take care of you.

Beatty: [00:43:41.10] The air.

Beatty: [00:43:42.77] Okay. So now we go back to risk. Can we prove that we believe it? If God’s word says it. Are you willing to take a risk and test it? Okay, so let me turn at one other spot. Malachi 310. Malachi 310. Mcclatchy, the Italian profit. It’s easy to find. Go to Matthew and turn back one book. So this is the Lord talking. And he says bring the whole tithe and it’s actually infer the whole tithe end offering because that’s this what this passage is about ties offering. It says, bring the whole tithe and offerings into the storehouse. That’s what we would call into God’s kingdom. So that there may be food in my house. And test me now in this. I thought we weren’t supposed to put the Lord to the test. Does your Bible say, test me now in this. If we’re not supposed to put the law to the test, then why is he telling us to test him? What does it mean?

Beatty: [00:45:11.92] It’s just in the words. You see my kids interested in the. Do you really trust?

Beatty: [00:45:16.57] Do you really trust it? So here’s a picture.

Beatty: [00:45:19.12] Real story.

Beatty: [00:45:20.60] There’s this company that makes back when you actually had, like, pull halls and video games and a great big machine and you play like, Pacman type stuff. So there’s this company that made these machines for the full halls and those places, bars and stuff where you have machines. And they said, Our machine, you cannot break. And they show the picture of this great big old fat guy that works for him, like 300 and £350. And they call it the like, I forget the guy’s name, but let’s just call his name is Butch. They call it the butch test. Butch will get up there and jump up and down on the machine, pound into it, hit it, sit on it and do all these things.

Beatty: [00:46:06.46] And.

Beatty: [00:46:07.84] Put it to the test. To see if it holds up. Does that make sense? That’s what God is telling us here in Malachi. Test me now in this. He says, test my promises. That I may prove them true. This is what James says. And James one, two says, Count it all, Joy, when you encounter various trials. That the testing of your faith. May ultimately make you perfect and complete. You’ve got to test. Your faith, that’s the risk. So back to Malachi 310. He says, test me now in this says the Lord of hosts. If I will not open for you the windows of heaven. Is that a good thing? Where are our spiritual blessings are? Do you think this could be tying into maybe Ephesians one, all of our spiritual blessings in Christ, in heavenly places. And it’s received by faith. Do you test God’s word by faith or by sight? That’s an easy question. Do you test God’s word by faith or by sight?

Beatty: [00:47:20.58] By faith?

Beatty: [00:47:22.05] Can you see it before you get it? Not by faith. So test me now in this as Lord of hosts have, I will not open for you the windows of heaven, those spiritual blessings and pour out for you are there. It is a blessing. Until it just fills your cup a little way.

Beatty: [00:47:40.58] That’s right. Yeah. A little light.

Beatty: [00:47:42.92] Until it overflows. Turn back to second Corinthians nine eight. I want you to see this. Test me now. I’ll open for you the windows of heaven and pour a blessing. Upon you until it overflows. Look at the same language that’s in second Corinthians nine eight. God is able. He’s powerful, mighty and will. Make all grace. Grace is power. All grace are bound to you that always having all sufficiency in everything. You may have an abundance for every good date. Does that sound similar to Malachi, where it says a blessing until it overflows? That’s an abundance. So a couple of stories. 1988. I’m a younger man.

Beatty: [00:48:40.81] Back then.

Beatty: [00:48:42.19] I had a little bit more hair. I actually came to that right here, I think.

Beatty: [00:48:47.47] And I.

Beatty: [00:48:48.73] Was reading a book that was directing on this, these two passages, second Corinthians.

Beatty: [00:48:54.28] Nine.

Beatty: [00:48:54.88] And Malachi 310. And it became conclusive that God’s word said. I cannot outlive his ability to take care of me. At that time, I wasn’t making much money. And when all of my expenses were paid, I had $25 left over. Now I know this is a long time from 1988 and Monies was worth a lot more back then, but $25 wasn’t worth much back then either. It hadn’t grown that much. And I was giving 15% of my income. And so I made a demand of the Lord. I didn’t understand that it was a demand. Here’s what I said.

Beatty: [00:49:44.37] Lord, your word.

Beatty: [00:49:49.38] Makes a promise that I cannot out give.

Beatty: [00:49:57.15] You. Right.

Beatty: [00:50:02.01] I said, and this is not this is not embellishing to the very best of my recollection, this is my prayer.

Beatty: [00:50:10.47] I probably.

Beatty: [00:50:11.97] The first time I ever knelt down in prayer.

Beatty: [00:50:13.32] Or something, I said, Lord.

Beatty: [00:50:16.60] If you’re that big of a God, prove it. I’m going to triple my giving right now for 90 days. And you take care of. I had no idea how I could survive. $25 is all I was saving. That’s all I was left over after all of my expenses. I went, Some people will call it blind faith. You don’t have blind faith. It’s not seeing faith, but it’s not blind because it’s based off.

Beatty: [00:50:43.56] Of faith.

Beatty: [00:50:44.40] Comes from hearing and hearing the word of Christ. So you step out and as you step out, that’s when the concrete forms.

Beatty: [00:50:52.80] In the pull of faith.

Beatty: [00:50:55.31] So I go for three months. I’m paying all my bills at the end of 90 days. I look back. And I saved $25 every month. But yet I was giving 45% of my income instead of 15. What’s interesting is looking back, you can always see how God makes it happen providentially. My car stopped breaking down. And that start breaking down funded the tripling of the giving. But what happened is this and this is the point of where I want to go tonight. Faith leads you to the father. If you want to have a close, intimate, passionate relationship with the Lord, you cannot have it except by faith. And unless you step out and risk. Testing God’s word so that faith is. When you act on God’s word in such a degree that failure is absolutely certain. Unless God intervenes and changes the reality.

Beatty: [00:52:17.28] Of what you would normally.

Beatty: [00:52:18.63] Get changes the natural you have to step out by faith, which is risk. When that happens, you get on this amazing high. Because you go. God just worked in my life. And then that emboldens you to continue. So then fast forward a little bit. This is now 1997. I’m a stay at home dad because I’m out of a job. Pei is a stay at home mom because she’s a stay at home mom. We have $5,000 in savings and no income. And a missionary friend of mine was raising support. So we wrote a check for $5,000 and gave it to. I had no idea how we were going to survive, but I knew that we would, because God’s word says if you give. He absolutely will take care of all your needs. So I did 13 different jobs, 13 different things that year to make ends meet. And we gave 20%.

Beatty: [00:53:27.84] Off.

Beatty: [00:53:28.23] Of the top before any expenses. Out of those 13 different things, my entire year’s adjusted gross gross income $11,882. That’s pretty gross. So we had a house with a mortgage payment, a car with a mortgage payment y’all ever have with those things? Pay had to have a root canal that year. Had 1200 dollars in cash. We had all the food, all the groceries, baby supplies. Bd Junior, our middle son, came that year, so we had more expenses for him. We never once missed a payment. We were never late on any payment. Everything was paid as agreed the whole way through. And you say, how in the world can you have mortgage payments, car payments, diapers, all this other stuff with 8000 $11,882. Looking backwards, I can tell you how looking forwards I never had any idea. Let me continue the story. This is interesting. So first one was 1988, then we moved to 1997. Out of those 13 things I did. One of them was buying a voice mail service and repackaging and selling it for more money to someone else. I was just the middleman.

Beatty: [00:55:06.22] And. Two years.

Beatty: [00:55:09.47] 1999. 24 months from the date of starting that. That little voice mail business was producing $350,000 a month in revenues. We just shot through the roof. We were living in a starter home. And almost 24 months to the date, we bought a new home just down the street, our old.

Beatty: [00:55:39.63] Home.

Beatty: [00:55:40.11] And paid it off in five and a half months. When the Lord.

Beatty: [00:55:45.63] Says.

Beatty: [00:55:47.92] He is able to make all grace are bound to you that always having all sufficiency in everything you may have in abundance for every good deed. I’m telling you, it’s true. Then we give. We increase our giving to 40%. And I started to put my sights on this other home that we wanted to kind of leapfrog into this other home, home that I’ve always wanted. And this now takes us to about 99, 2000, right in that time frame. And and I wanted to save up some money. And the Lord kept impressing on my heart, Increase your giving.

Beatty: [00:56:27.23] So now.

Beatty: [00:56:29.35] Increase your giving. I was going to resist it. So we’re out on the event down in Marco Island.

Beatty: [00:56:35.44] And.

Beatty: [00:56:36.69] You know, if you’ve ever had those conversations with the Lord and there’s a burden on your heart, it just gets to that crescendo. And it was at that crescendo late on a Saturday night. And so I went out walking on the beach until like two or three in the morning. Pa was back in the room asleep. And I’m wrestling with God with this thing because I know I knew He wanted me to.

Beatty: [00:56:56.29] Do it.

Beatty: [00:56:57.40] To increase my.

Beatty: [00:56:58.66] Giving.

Beatty: [00:56:59.32] But I was resistant. And he said, increase you’re giving. I said, no. He said, Why not? Said, Because I want that house. They said, Well, then he said, then it said, Increase your giving. I said, no. Then he.

Beatty: [00:57:15.89] Said.

Beatty: [00:57:16.61] Give me the house.

Beatty: [00:57:20.41] And I said no first.

Beatty: [00:57:22.72] And he said, Give me the house. I said.

Beatty: [00:57:24.67] Okay. I give you the house.

Beatty: [00:57:28.41] And it says that where your treasure is there will your heart be also?

Beatty: [00:57:33.96] My treasure.

Beatty: [00:57:34.92] Was the.

Beatty: [00:57:35.31] House.

Beatty: [00:57:36.36] I was resisting God’s will. Because I wanted something in the flesh. I gave that treasure over to the Lord. And then he said, Increase your giving. You know what I said? How much? And he directed us to increase our giving to 60%. So we began giving 60% for probably the next five or six years, plus or.

Beatty: [00:58:05.79] Minus.

Beatty: [00:58:07.24] And they continue to take care of us. And continues to.

Beatty: [00:58:13.10] Today.

Beatty: [00:58:14.66] And then one of the things that has been kind of the moniker, if you call it that or kind of a message in our life, is we’ve we’ve had this life of ups and downs over the years. It’s a life of constant abundance and the presence of lack. That’s what walking by faith is. It’s where you don’t see it. We have this constant abundance. Always enough. More than enough. Though kind of the joke within the family is don’t give dad any money because he’ll give it away. Because I don’t care about the money, because the Lord will always give whatever we need. And there’s this generosity from the heart based on God’s word that says. I can’t give him. And so here’s what I’d like to challenge and leave with. The Lord may be telling you to put His Word to the test. To let him prove his promises.

Beatty: [00:59:16.62] True.

Beatty: [00:59:18.19] So that you can see him work in your life by your faith of trusting his word, believing it to be true, Abraham believed, and it was counted to him as righteousness. Because when you step out by faith. God works. You grow closer to the father. Jesus says when the sun and then return truly find.

Beatty: [00:59:46.40] Faith on earth.

Beatty: [00:59:49.45] If you’re not willing to risk it, you won’t. You won’t be the one that he finds. When I tripled my giving in 1988. If I simply said I’m just going to triple my giving, see what happens. I would have gone down. I would have.

Beatty: [01:00:05.88] Sunk. But.

Beatty: [01:00:09.23] It was based on God’s word, putting his word to the test. And letting him prove it. That’s what faith is.

Beatty: [01:00:17.43] Trusting on the Lord’s word.

Beatty: [01:00:20.45] So let me encourage you guys. Test it, step out, do something that God’s word says. And watch him work.

Beatty: [01:00:29.59] It’s really, really cool.
