How to write a client letter as a prospecting lead generation method with your real estate sphere of influence

Another of the real estate marketing ideas you can do with your sphere of influence is what I call a ‘Personal Client Letter’.  The personal client letter is one of the real estate letters going to seller leads who have done a transaction with you.  More than anything else, these real estate letters are a thank you with a request for real estate referrals.  It would go like this….

“Dear John and Sue, I really enjoyed helping you with the purchase of your new home recently.  I’m so glad we got it and I’m thrilled with the aggressive negotiation we achieved on that, saving you even more money.”

Ring your bell on that sale because you worked hard on it. Remind your sellers about something you did that added a lot of value for them. Say something like, “I’m really appreciative that we got this done for you because of the value that it drove to you. Thank you for using me as your realtor.  Please let me know if I can help you with anything in the future. If you need help with contractors or resources let me know because I have a whole list of these people that I share all the time. If you know anyone who’s thinking about buying or selling a home and you get an opportunity to refer me, I would greatly appreciate any real estate referrals and thank you.”

That’s an example of the real estate letters you might send to previous clients. You can use variations of this, but the most important thing you can do is to be authentic. Be sure your real estate letters don’t sound like a form letter that just goes out. That detracts value.  Seller leads or previous clients that you’re hoping to get real estate referrals from will think, “That’s all my realtor thinks of me? A form letter! That’s the last time I’m going to use that real estate agent.”

Don’t take the cheap route if it’s going to come across negatively. You at least need to take the time and make real estate letters personal.
